I have been a technical writer for 15 years, primarily focusing on software and hardware documentation. The past years have been an interesting ride of acquisitions. I began working at a small company in San Diego named Blue Sky Software in 1999. (You may know Blue Sky Software as the makers of RoboHelp, an excellent tool for creating online help systems.) The company changed its name to eHelp Corporation in 2000. At the end of 2003, eHelp was acquired by Macromedia, a software company known for Flash and Dreamweaver. In Spring of 2005, Adobe announced it was buying Macromedia. So, this rollercoaster ride of software company buyouts means that I have had the privilege of working for some great companies. Best of all, I've been able to write the documentation for amazing products and learn how to use those products along the way. After Adobe closed their San Diego office in December 2008, I worked as a writing consultant at a software firm and an aerospace firm. In November 2009, I accepted a staff position as an Information Engineer at Teradata. In March 2011 I started as Senior Technical Writer at ServiceNow.
